1. Who we are
TAEO | EdTech is the educational technology startup of the TAEO Psychoeducational Organization. The service is provided by TAEO Inc., a corporation incorporated in the State of Delaware, United States, with its registered office at 16192 Coastal Highway, Lewes, DE 19958 («TAEO», «we», «us» or «our»). TAEO Inc. develops and operates the web application available at https://app.taeo.tech (the «app») and the website https://taeo.tech (together, the «Service»). The Contextos editorial magazine is published at https://contextos.taeo.tech, a site separate from the app’s marketing site.
You can contact us at soporte@taeo.tech with any question about the Service or these terms.
2. Acceptance of the terms
By creating an account, purchasing a subscription or using the Service, you accept these Terms and conditions, the Privacy policy and the Cancellation and refund policy, which form part of this agreement. If you do not agree with them, you must not use the Service.
If you use the Service on behalf of an institution (for example, a school or an educational center), you represent that you have authority to accept these terms on its behalf.
3. Who may use the Service
The Service is intended for adults: parents, legal guardians and other adults who support a child’s learning with the authorization of the child’s parent or guardian. To create an account you must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority in your country if higher.
Children do not create accounts or use the app on their own. Each child’s information is entered by a responsible adult, who represents that they are the child’s parent or legal guardian, or that they have the express authorization of the parent or guardian to do so.
4. Strictly educational nature (EdTech) and exclusion of healthcare services
You acknowledge and agree that TAEO | EdTech is a technology platform of an exclusively educational, training and parental-guidance nature (Parent Coaching & Educational Platform). Neither the platform nor the human team that interacts through it provides medical, psychiatric, clinical psychology, clinical occupational therapy, speech-language pathology/healthcare speech therapy or telemedicine services.
- TAEO | EdTech does not diagnose, treat or prevent any health condition.
- Use of the application does not replace assessment, diagnosis or in-person or remote treatment provided by health professionals licensed in your jurisdiction.
- The results shown in the app, such as the development map, the Matrix and the activity path, are educational guidance based on the information you provide. They are not diagnoses or clinical reports and must not be used as such.
- The Service is not designed for emergencies. If your child or anyone else is in danger, contact your local emergency services immediately.
- Activities must always be carried out under adult supervision, using good judgment about the safety of the environment and materials.
If you have concerns about your child’s health or development, consult a local pediatrician, therapist or other qualified health professional. Use of the app does not replace that consultation.
5. Academic credentials versus functional role on the platform
To ensure the pedagogical quality of its content, TAEO | EdTech includes on its team professionals with university academic training and prior experience in disciplines such as psychology, educational psychology, special education, occupational therapy or speech-language therapy in their respective countries of origin. You expressly understand and accept that, within the TAEO | EdTech ecosystem, those professionals do not practice the clinical exercise of any healthcare credentials they may hold; they act solely and exclusively under the pedagogical and educational-support roles defined below.
A) Functions and limits of TAEO Psychoeducational Mediators (live support and community chat). TAEO Psychoeducational Mediators are the facilitators who answer questions from parents or adult caregivers through the live chat and group live sessions on the platform.
- What is part of their role: guiding adults on how to carry out, step by step, the everyday activities the application proposes at home; suggesting practical, playful or household-material adaptations when a family has questions about a specific platform exercise; and facilitating collaborative learning in the shared chat with general guidance on positive parenting, routines and neuroaffirming understanding.
- What is strictly excluded from their role: issuing clinical diagnoses or medical labels about the child; prescribing pharmacological treatments or rehabilitation plans; providing individual or family psychotherapy; handling medical emergencies or acute behavioral crises; or issuing expert or clinical reports with medico-legal validity.
B) Functions and limits of TAEO Psychoeducational Directors (dashboard follow-up and progress). TAEO Psychoeducational Directors are the technical-pedagogical team responsible for asynchronously supervising how learning paths function inside the platform.
- What is part of their role: monitoring through the internal dashboard usage metrics, progress on Matrix levels and completion rates for activities assigned to each family; detecting preventively whether a family shows stalling, low adherence or repeated difficulty in a specific activity block; and sending proactive pedagogical-adjustment recommendations to parents or caregivers (for example, breaking a task into simpler steps, reinforcing a prior skill or adjusting the pace of the path) to support continued learning at home.
- What is strictly excluded from their role: their monitoring is exclusively pedagogical and algorithmic regarding software use, and in no case constitutes clinical patient monitoring (Remote Patient Monitoring), epidemiological surveillance, formal neuropsychological assessment or medical follow-up of pathologies.
6. No physician-patient or therapist-client relationship
Your interaction as User with TAEO Psychoeducational Mediators and the operational supervision by TAEO Psychoeducational Directors are addressed solely to the adult responsible for the child, for parental training purposes. Under no circumstances do they create or establish a fiduciary or clinical physician-patient, psychologist-patient or therapist-client relationship in any state, federal or international jurisdiction.
7. Your account
You need an account to use the app. You agree to provide true and up-to-date information, keep your password confidential and not share your account with others. You are responsible for activity that occurs under your account.
If you suspect unauthorized access to your account, write to us immediately at soporte@taeo.tech.
8. Subscription, price and payments
Access to the app is offered through a single subscription priced at 50 US dollars (USD 50) per month. You will see the price and currency before confirming payment.
- Automatic renewal: the subscription renews automatically every month and is charged on the same day of the month on which you subscribed, until you cancel.
- Payment method: payments are processed by Stripe, Inc., our payment processor. TAEO does not receive or store your full card details.
- Taxes and currency conversion: depending on your country of residence, indirect taxes may apply (for example, VAT on digital services). If your payment method uses another currency, your bank may apply its own exchange rate or fees, which do not depend on TAEO.
- Failed payments: if a charge cannot be completed, we will notify you so you can update your payment method. If the payment is not resolved, we may suspend access to paid features until it is.
- Price changes: if we change the price, we will notify you at least 30 days in advance. The new price will apply from the next renewal, and you may cancel beforehand if you do not agree.
TAEO may, at its discretion, offer free access periods or promotions. Their conditions will be stated in each case.
9. Cancellation and refunds
You can cancel your subscription at any time, without penalty, from the app’s billing options or by writing to soporte@taeo.tech. Cancelling stops future charges, and you keep access until the end of the period already paid.
You may request a refund of a charge within 7 days of the date it was made. The full conditions are set out in the Cancellation and refund policy, which forms part of these terms.
10. Live sessions and chat
The app includes live sessions with TAEO Psychoeducational Mediators, where families can send questions through the chat. To keep this space useful and safe for everyone:
- Questions may be answered live, in front of all families connected to the session. Do not share in the chat information that could identify your child or other people, or health information that is not necessary for your question.
- Treat TAEO Psychoeducational Mediators and other families with respect. Do not post offensive, discriminatory or promotional content, or content unrelated to the purpose of the Service.
- Do not record, copy or share the sessions or other families’ questions.
- Sessions are held in shifts and at the times TAEO schedules. We do not guarantee immediate or continuous attention.
We may moderate or remove messages and limit chat access for anyone who breaks these rules.
11. Acceptable use
You agree to use the Service only for legitimate personal, family or educational purposes. In particular, you must not:
- Enter information about children over whom you do not have parental authority or guardianship, or the express authorization of the person who does.
- Access or attempt to access accounts, data or systems that do not belong to you, or circumvent the Service’s security measures.
- Copy, bulk download, resell, sublicense or distribute the Service’s content.
- Use robots, scrapers or other automated means to access the Service.
- Use the Service for unlawful purposes or in ways that infringe the rights of others.
12. Your data and your content
The information you enter about yourself and your child belongs to you. You authorize us to process it solely to provide the Service, as described in the Privacy policy. We do not sell your data or your child’s data, and we do not share it with advertisers.
You represent that the information you provide is accurate and that you have the right to provide it.
13. Intellectual property
The Service and all of its content (activities, texts, illustrations, audio, video, Academy modules, printable materials, questionnaires, methodology, trademarks, logos and software) are owned by TAEO Inc. or its licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws.
While your subscription is active, we grant you a personal, limited, revocable, non-exclusive and non-transferable license to use the content with your family and the children in your care. This license does not allow commercial use, public reproduction or distribution of the content to third parties.
TAEO, TAEO | EdTech and their logos are trademarks of TAEO. You may not use them without our written permission.
14. Availability and changes to the Service
We work to keep the Service continuously available, but there may be interruptions due to maintenance, updates or causes beyond our control. We may improve, modify or withdraw features of the Service. If a change substantially reduces what your subscription includes, we will give you reasonable advance notice and you may cancel and request a prorated refund for the unused period.
15. Disclaimer of warranties
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the Service is provided «as is» and «as available». TAEO does not guarantee specific results in any child’s learning or development, because every child progresses at their own pace and outcomes depend on many factors outside the Service. Nor does TAEO guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free.
16. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, TAEO and its directors, employees and collaborators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, data or opportunities, arising from the use of or inability to use the Service.
To the same extent, TAEO’s total liability to you for any claim related to the Service will not exceed the amount you paid to TAEO in the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law, such as liability for fraud or gross negligence, or any non-waivable rights granted to you by the consumer protection laws of your country.
17. Indemnification
You agree to hold TAEO harmless from third-party claims arising from your breach of these terms or from misuse of the Service through your account, including providing a child’s information without the necessary authorization.
18. Suspension and termination
You may stop using the Service and request the closure of your account at any time by writing to soporte@taeo.tech.
We may suspend or close your account if you seriously or repeatedly breach these terms, if required by law, or if necessary to protect other users, children or the Service. Unless the law prevents it or there is a risk, we will notify you in advance and explain the reason. If we close your account without any breach on your part, we will refund the prorated unused portion of the paid period.
After your account is closed, we will handle your data as described in the Privacy policy.
19. Governing law and dispute resolution
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to its conflict of laws rules. If you are a consumer, this does not deprive you of the protection afforded by the mandatory consumer protection laws of your country of residence.
Before starting any formal claim, please write to us at soporte@taeo.tech so we can try to resolve it in good faith. If we cannot reach a solution within 30 days, either party may bring the matter before the competent courts of the State of Delaware, without prejudice to your right to go to the courts or consumer protection authorities of your country of residence where the law grants you that right.
20. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. If the changes are material, we will notify you at least 30 days in advance by email or within the app. If you continue to use the Service after that date, you will be deemed to accept the new terms. If you do not agree, you may cancel your subscription before they take effect.
21. General provisions
- Entire agreement: these terms, together with the Privacy policy and the Cancellation and refund policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and TAEO regarding the Service.
- Severability: if any provision is held invalid, the remaining provisions will remain in effect.
- No waiver: our failure to exercise a right at a given time does not mean we waive it.
- Assignment: you may not assign your rights or obligations without our consent. TAEO may assign them in the event of a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, while keeping the protections of these terms.
- Force majeure: TAEO will not be liable for failures caused by events beyond its reasonable control.
- Language: these terms are published in Spanish and English. In case of any discrepancy between the two versions, the Spanish version will prevail.
